History.
Touhou Project began development by Team Shanghai Alice in 1997. Although the team officially only has one member named ZUN, there are currently 33 games in total (including both mainline and spinoff titles as of 2025).
This isn't including the numerous manga, music albums, light novels and art books that are published!
Touhou Project takes place in Gensokyo, a small piece of land located in Japan that is isolated from the modern world via a magical barrier.
It hasn't technologically nor socially advanced since the feudal era, and it's population consists of human, gods, yokai creatures that (typically) take the form of humans.
On occasion, there will be an incident caused gods and/or yokai, and the protagonist Hakurei Reimu will attempt to resolve said incident...and that's barely the surface of the plot.
Thankfully, each game is for the most part self contained, and they can be purchased on online game stores globally or imported from Japan.

What the heck is a fanlisting?
It's an online list of fans of any subject matter. Usually it's media related, but sometimes people make fanlistings for objects, foods, colors, or vague ideas.
Who can join this fanlisting?
Anyone who enjoys the Touhou Project series! I made this fanlisting for fans of the older games (TH6-TH9) in mind, but fans of newer games are also welcome. If you're a casual fan, I'd at least recommend you play a couple more games before joining, but I can't stop anyone who hasn't already. In an ideal world, submitting a 1cc replay file would be a requirement before joining.
Do I need a website to join?
Nope! But it's definitely preferred, especially if you have a page dedicated to the series. I will prioritize invites who have a website over those that do not.
If I include my website, is it OK if it has erotic or political content?
Website submissions with adult content (pornography, gore, etc) will be labeled as such. Anything else is fair game; I cannot control the views people hold before joining nor am I responsible for said views. Everyone's opinion is their own to hold. The only exception I make is if the content is illegal to link back to, which I believe is a fair compromise.
